Attorney | Affordable Housing | 147017
We are seeking an experienced attorney to join our team, focusing on Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and tax-exempt bond transactions. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex real estate and financing deals, providing developer-side representation and legal counsel. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate law, tax credits, and bond transactions, with a commitment to collaboration and excellence in client service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent developers in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and tax-exempt bond transactions, providing guidance throughout the process.
- Draft and review equity, loan, real estate, and related transaction documents with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Review title reports and surveys to ensure the integrity of transactions and resolve any issues that arise.
- Advise clients on entity selection and formation, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and structuring for optimal tax treatment.
- Conduct thorough transaction due diligence, identifying and mitigating risks.
- Collaborate effectively with clients, partners, and internal teams to ensure successful transaction outcomes.
- Use Westlaw for comprehensive legal research to support transactions and client needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Significant experience with LIHTC and tax-exempt bond transactions, especially on the developer side.
- Strong background in drafting and reviewing complex legal documents related to real estate and financing transactions.
- Experience with title and survey analysis in real estate deals.
- Knowledge of entity selection, formation, and due diligence processes.
- An LLM in tax law or a degree in accounting or finance is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to collaborate with clients, partners, and staff, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Westlaw and other legal research tools.
- Admission to practice law in Florida, or willingness to sit for the next bar exam.
- Exceptional academic credentials from a reputable law school.
- Portables (existing client base) are a plus for senior candidates.
