New York, NY Attorney Litigation

We are seeking an experienced E-Discovery Review Attorney to join the Litigation & E-Discovery Services (LEDS) team in New York, NY. In this role, you will manage the discovery of electronically stored information (ESI) in litigation, oversee document reviews, manage teams of temporary contract attorneys, and provide project management support. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with e-discovery platforms and document review workflows, along with strong leadership skills in managing complex document review projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, conduct, and supervise strategic document reviews and productions.
  • Guide case teams on managing the document review process, including creating review playbooks, protocols, and training.
  • Advise on best practices for ESI search and review in litigation, regulatory investigations, and other matters.
  • Coordinate with management for the hiring and oversight of temporary review attorneys.
  • Perform substantive document review using platforms such as Relativity.
  • Review and code documents for relevance, privilege, confidentiality, and issues.
  • Conduct privilege reviews, and redactions, and assist with preparing privilege logs.
  • Develop strategies to reduce document review costs and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable discovery rules and procedures, including the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Work with other team members to ensure quality control and adherence to workflows.
  • Assist in the development of keyword searches, document sampling, and other strategies for fact development and case preparation.
  • Stay current on evolving e-discovery laws and best practices.
  • Travel to other office locations or client sites as required.
  • Accurately bill time for both billable and non-billable activities.

 

Skills & Experience Required:

  • JD Degree with 2+ years of experience managing complex litigation document reviews and e-discovery projects.
  • Proficiency in document review platforms such as Relativity.
  • Active membership in good standing with a state bar.
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel as needed.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a law firm or as an E-Discovery attorney.
  • Relevant e-discovery certifications or specialized training.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Expected annual salary: $180,000 (subject to experience, location, and skills).
