Key Responsibilities

  • Estate Planning & Wealth Preservation:
  • Draft and review trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and advanced estate planning documents.
  • Advise clients on tax-efficient strategies, including gift tax, estate tax, and charitable planning.
  • Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to implement comprehensive plans.

 

Probate & Trust Administration:

  • Manage probate proceedings, including asset transfers, creditor claims, and estate tax filings.
  • Administer trusts, ensuring compliance with fiduciary duties and beneficiary interests.
  • Client Relationship Management
  • Provide empathetic guidance to clients navigating sensitive family or financial matters.
  • Communicate complex legal concepts clearly and maintain proactive client communication.
  • Legal Research & Compliance
  • Stay updated on state and federal regulations impacting trusts, estates, and tax laws.
  • Conduct due diligence to identify risks and opportunities in estate structures.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years in trusts and estates law, preferably with a focus on high-net-worth individuals or complex family dynamics.
  • Education & Credentials:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) and admission to the Massachusetts Bar (
  • LLM in Taxation or Estate Planning is a plus.
