Our Client

Our client is a respected Virginia-based litigation firm with a longstanding reputation for excellence in workers’ compensation defense. Known for its litigation strength and deep bench of experienced attorneys, the firm offers a collegial, trial-oriented environment and a stable platform for career development. They are seeking an early to mid-level Workers’ Compensation Attorney to support their Richmond (North Chesterfield) team. Salary is in the $70-120k range depending on experience. This role starts out in-office but has the opportunity to go hybrid as you ramp up. You should be commutable in the North Chesterfield area. This is a full-time, direct hire role that provides hands-on litigation experience and a well-established support structure.

What To Expect as a Workers’ Compensation Attorney

  • Represent employers and insurance carriers in all phases of workers’ compensation litigation
  • Draft and argue pretrial motions, handle mediations, and conduct depositions of parties and medical experts
  • Prepare for and attend hearings and trials before the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission
  • Work closely with clients, adjusters, and medical professionals to build effective case strategies

Qualifications For Success

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active Virginia Bar admission are required
  • 1-5 years of workers’ compensation defense experience required
  • Experience handling depositions, pretrial motions, expert witnesses, and hearings
  • Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills
  • Excellent academic credentials and communication skills
  • Team-oriented mindset and ability to manage deadlines independently
  • Civil litigation experience is a plus but not required

 

Salary: $70,000 – $125,000
