A reputable law firm in Lancaster, CA is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join their Litigation Team. The ideal candidate must be able to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate excellent attention to detail. This role involves handling a variety of tasks to support litigation processes. The firm is looking for a dedicated, organized, and proactive individual to join their dynamic team.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Docketing for a substantial caseload
  • Scheduling hearings, depositions, and meetings
  • Ensuring all deadlines are met on time
  • Preparing discovery responses
  • Drafting pleadings
  • Filing court documents including summons, complaints, motions, and other pleadings
  • Routine contact with clients, opposing counsel, experts and attorneys

 

Applicant Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in civil litigation
  • Experience filing in State, Federal, and Appellate Courts
  • Familiarity with legal terminology, legal document formatting, legal processes, and procedures
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent proof-reading skills
  • Spanish speaking is a plus
