A prestigious law firm is seeking a highly organized and proactive Litigation Paralegal to join their New York office. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and high-profile matters alongside litigators at every stage of litigation, from case inception through discovery, trial preparation, post-trial findings, and appeals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document Management: Compile, organize, and assist with document collections for discovery, motions, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.
  • Court Filings & Legal Research: Bluebook, cite-check, and proofread various court filings and legal memoranda. Perform factual research and summarize compiled information.
  • eDiscovery: Coordinate with litigation support and vendors on all aspects of eDiscovery.
  • Witness Support: Prepare deposition notices and subpoenas, organize witness materials and exhibits, and maintain summaries of witness interviews and depositions.
  • Drafting & Filing: Assist in drafting pleadings and motions, gather and organize exhibits, e-file court documents, and coordinate service of process.
  • Trial Preparation: Assist with all aspects of trial preparation and attend trials when necessary.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by the practice group and Paralegal Management.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of complex litigation paralegal experience.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work overtime and on short notice as needed.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Litigation Support: Experience with review platforms like Relativity and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Court Filing: Familiarity with e-filing in federal and state courts.
  • Cite-Checking & Proofreading: Strong skills in blue booking, cite-checking, and proofreading.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced knowledge of Excel preferred.

 

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected hourly pay range for this position with a 40-hour workweek in New York is $38.00 – $54.00 ($79,040.00 – $112,320.00 annually).
