Let’s be direct: Mission Recruiting is representing a sophisticated, litigation boutique based in Los Angeles that operates on a 100% remote model. We are looking for a Defense-side attorney (1+ years) who has the professional judgment and work ethic to manage a high-stakes litigation docket from home.

The Reality of the Role

• The Work: This is active litigation. You will handle contract disputes, provider litigation, and overpayment recovery for major health plans. While the firm focuses on strategic resolution and arbitration, you must be prepared to manage cases from inception through trial.
• The Workload: This is a busy practice with a significant, fast-paced docket. We are looking for an attorney who enjoys digging into complex healthcare data and reimbursement law to build a case.
• The Commitment: The annual billable target is 1,800 hours. Because the role is 100% remote, we need an advocate with high “Remote Integrity”—someone who delivers high-level results without needing to be micromanaged.
• The Mentorship: You will receive direct, honest feedback from a team of seasoned healthcare partners. We are looking for someone who values “critical but fair” coaching to help elevate their practice.
• The Background: We have a strong preference for candidates with Defense backgrounds (Insurance Defense or Medical Malpractice). We are not considering Plaintiff-side backgrounds for this role.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $125,000 – $180,000+ (DOE).
• Billable Bonus: $10,000 bonus at 2,000 hours, plus an additional $10,000 for every 100 hours thereafter.
• Insurance: Monthly stipend for health plans; 100% company-covered Dental/Vision for the employee and their dependents.
• Security: $150k Life policy and Long-term disability coverage.
• Retirement: Profit-sharing plan eligibility after one year of service.

Requirements

• 1+ years of litigation experience (Healthcare interest/background preferred).
• Active California Bar License in good standing.
• Impeccable professional judgment and a “defense-first” mindset.
